‘Evisceration Plague’ is the most different song on the album featuring a slowed down tempo and tuned lower than the other tracks – it is very catchy and is probably as accessible as death metal gets/5().

And this especially rings true on their release, Evisceration Plague. All the expected elements of a solid Cannibal Corpse recording are present -- metronome-like precision drumming, razor-sharp riffing, guttural growls akin to a caveman, and dark lyrics.7/

Evisceration Plague encapsulates everything you’d want in a death metal album – aggression, speed, complexity, huge riffs, memorable songs, great vocals, and importantly - fantastic production. The songs on this album are top-notch and show that Cannibal Corpse hit the mark on their intention to improve musically from album-to-album and continue to push themselves as the number one death metal band/5(92).

Cannibal Corpse Plague The 11th album by Cannibal Corpse and it continues down a similar path of Kill, but a bit better tone here. The songwriting here has definitely stepped up, as well compares to the last several albums. "Priests of Sodom" is a decent opener, I like the solo.

As it turns out, "Evisceration Plague" is another strong CANNIBAL CORPSE album; it's just not as good as "Kill". Unless you are one of those hardcore fans that choose to dive into the musical.
